BikerBabe77 2007-12-13	Harley Chat » Need advice when driving in fog The other day I was driving my motorcycle in the rain and fog. This was scary for me because my visibility was extremely low. The only thing that saved me was following a big car in front of me. On this treacherous day, I was wearing a full-face helmet and had a lot of difficulty looking through it. Does anyone have this same problem? Are there any tricks I can do to see better in the rain and fog when driving my bike? I personally avoid riding when the weather channel indicates there will be a chance of rain and fog that day, but we all experienced those days when the weather is perfect as you go shopping and later the weather changes after spending two hour in the mall. So does anyone have any advice on how to see better in my helmet when it's raining or foggy outside?

BikerBabe77 2007-12-06	Maintenance » What is a compensator? My neighbor came up to me the other day and told me he was riding his bike when it suddenly stopped. He got it home and realized his compensator just failed and jammed into other parts of the engine. I was totally shocked. It seems like a big job. I was hoping someone here could explain what is a compensator? What does it look like? How does it function? Has anyone had it happen to them before? Thankfully his bike is still under warrantee, so he doesn’t have to pay anything to get it fixed.

I want to get new tires for my motorcycle and I was wondering if anyone tell me what the numbers mean on the sidewall of the tire. Currently, on my tire I have the numbers 130/90HB-16. I know the number 16 stands for the rim diameter, but about the other numbers? What importance do they have when riding a motorcycle?

BikerBabe77 2007-11-29	Softail » Any other motorcycles with a softail rear suspension? I am interested in purchasing a motorcycle with softail rear suspension. I really like the movable rear suspension system with shock absorbers to absorb the bumps. I also like the idea of having the absorbers hidden underneath out of view to give the appearance of a hard tail or rigid frame. Are there any other motorcycles besides the Harley Davidson Softail that has the same type of rear suspension?

If you have your mind set on a Harley, but get a Honda, you’ll always regret your decision whenever you see someone driving a Harley. Selecting a motorcycle is a personal thing and I would not base my final decision on cost. The feeling you get when riding a motorcycle is priceless, so it’s important that you select the bike that will make you the happiest when riding. The Honda and Harley are both respected and accepted by the motorcycle community. Some people enjoy riding a Honda while others prefer a Harley. Everyone has his or her own preference so don’t worry about what others may think. Simply get the motorcycle that triggers the inner excitement every time you look and start riding it.
