I am looking for help on a 1991 Dyna. I was riding the motorcycle the other day and it needed gas, so I filled the gas tank up. The weather here is somewhat cool so I decided to hang out inside the gas station for awhile. When I came outside, I noticed the bike cooled off quickly, so I had to choke it to get it stated. About 20 seconds after it fired up, it began to sputter and eventually shut off. I fired it up again and it stayed running, but it sounded terrible. I checked the spark plugs and they looked okay. Today, I fired it up again, but it seems as though the back cylinder isn’t firing. Does anyone have any suggestion on what the problem could be?

I was wondering if anyone here belongs to HOG? I’ve been thinking of becoming a member and was wondering if anyone has any personal experience as a member of this group. So far I have been hearing some good and bad points. Those who I know became a member because they purchased a new Harley and along with the purchase they received a free one year membership dues. Does any one know how much is the membership fee? Are you happy you became a member? Do you plan on continuing your membership?

I have a 2002 Softtail Standard and I was driving down the highway the other day and suddenly everything shuts off. I had no lights and no power at all. I pulled over to the side and sat there for awhile. I later put the key back in the ignition and the motorcycle turned back on. Everything was normal. I decided to quickly drive it back home, but it kept shutting down several times on my way back. What do you think is causing this problem? In my opinion it might be the ignition switch. What does everyone else think? Any suggestions? |

I am trying to decide whether to purchase a sporty 883 or 1200. I want a motorcycle that’s a 2000 or newer year and I was hoping someone could tell me what is the horsepower rating for these bikes. Currently, I am leaning towards an 883, but if there is a major difference in horsepower, I may decide to go with a 1200. Thanks. |

I recommend making sure any custom parts and equipment on your motorcycle are covered on your insurance policy. Currently, my motorcycle has chrome plating, a custom paint job and special rims. This increases the value of my bike. For that reason, I made sure that my insurance company was informed of these specialized parts in case they need to be replaced if I was involved in an accident. Another reason is because if you are involved in an accident and your bike is totally destroyed, your insurance company will write you a check for the value of your bike. I don’t think you’d be happy getting money for the value of your bike that does not reflect the expensive customized parts you put on your it. In regards to a company that specializes in motorcycle insurance, I recommend Progressive. Some of my friends are insured through them and they are happy with the company. |
