Look for a product called Kreem. It has three chemicals. The first rinse is a cleaner. The second is an etcher. The third is a coating. It will seal anything in the tank from getting in the gas. Could be done in a weekend. Word of caution, don't use a fuel additive after this. No octane booster etc.

I am helping someone change the fuel filter on 2002 Road King that has about 65,000 miles on it. The inside of the fuel tank is peeling all over. It appears as though the paint is bubbling and possibly some has come off already. My concern is, if too much comes off, it could easily plug the intake screen. This would be terrible. I need some advice on what I can do to clean it. Are there any products on the market that I can use?

I need some feedback on a 2006 King Classic with a mustang seat. I am interested in possibly changing the handlebars because of the inconvenience of having to lean forward while driving it. After driving my bike this way, my back starts to ache. I would like to sit up straight while driving. I’m thinking of getting Heritage bars. What does everyone else think? Does anyone have them on their bike now?

Are you sure it’s the exhaust that you smell? The reason I ask is because if your crankcase breathers are routed to vent to the atmosphere, then your passenger will smell the crankcase venting. In fact, you will also smell it when you stop at a light or signal. Other than that, I really can’t think of how the exhaust gases from the tailpipe could come all the way forward towards your face. What does everyone else think?

I have a problem with a 2004 Road King custom. The bike is excellent to ride, but there is a small problem with the saddlebags. Of the Harley’s I think these saddlebags are the smallest I’ve ever seen. In fact, Harley Davidson placed a big clunky latch on the lip of the bags, which makes the bags even less useable cause the latch is always in the way when you try to pack or unpack stuff. So as a result, I am considering buying some new saddlebags or possibly removing the latches from inside the bags to get more room. Has anyone ever done this before? Can anyone recommend a better solution to this problem?

I am having problems with a 1994 Road King. Currently it has 32,000 miles and lately I’ve noticed that the oil in the primary drive case seems to be disappearing. I looked to see if there was any oil leaks from the primary and there was none. I also noticed that the oil level in the gear box doesn’t seem to be moving, so what’s going on? Does anyone have any ideas?
The only thing that might be causing the problem is the oil could be going into the crankcase through the crankshaft seal. This would incorporate it into the engine oil. Do you think this is what’s happening?

Currently I have an Electra Drive Ultra Classic. When I sit on the bike, I am not happy with the position of my feet. I want to lower the seat so I am able to bend my knees, which will allow me to back the bike up efficiently. Right now I can place my feet all the way to the ground with a flat foot, but I still want more leverage. To solve this problem I am thinking of installing lower shocks in the rear. Is there a downside to lowering the rear shocks only? Will this cause the footboards to drag? Should I consider lowering the front too for better handling? Any other suggestion? |
